Creep Feed Advantages

 MGA Protocol

Capture the Benefits Of Using MGA For Your Heifers' Breeding Season!
You don't have to artificially inseminate to benefit from estrus synchronization using MGA.

Some benefits of using MGA include:

1.) Increase the # bred early in the season.
2.) Control when the calves will come. Minimize the guess work involved with calving.
3.) Save labor during the calving season.
4.) Improve subsequent reproductive performance.
5.) Increase weaning weights.

Begin feeding MGA 39 days prior to desired breeding date.

Feed MGA to deliver 0.5 mg/hd/d for 14 days.

Sub-fertile heat will occur approximately 3 days following the last day that MGA was fed.

Do not expose heifers to the bull during this time.

Turn in Bull with no more than 15-20 heifers between days 27 and 34.

Heifers should begin cycling on day 39.

Feed MGA at 0.5 mg/hd/d from April 24th to May 7th.

Turn bull in between May 20th and May 27th.

Keep the cow to bull ratio less than 20 cows to 1 mature bull who has recently passed
